Nature.
By designing a house right by the lake, we made the lake and the surrounding landscape an integral part of the concept. We left the nature around it untouched, in its pure, wild form unaltered by human hand. Water, trees, landscape, house became one organism, they began to breathe in one rhythm, and the house literally entered the lake. Thanks to the fully glassed-in southern elevation, the world seen outside the window and the world inside became one.
Material.
The main building materials of the house are stone and wood - both being perfect products of nature. For the facade material, we used real Polish limestone in a warm cream color, which we juxtaposed with a black board of burnt larch wood. The rooms are filled with natural, light, creamy colors, contrasted with a dark accent in the form of a black board - the same one that appears on the facade. The color rhythm is harmonious, the materials natural: oak wood on the walls and floor, oak boards on the ceiling, an oak veneer finish for the table, woven wooden strips for lamps, linen and cotton for curtains and upholstery. The space’s most significant shapes are oval, biomorphic, organic with soft lines and rounded edges.
Flow.
Inside, we aimed to free the space, lengthen the view corridors, and create an abundance of openings. Hence the use of huge sliding doors acting as mobile walls, which allow the spaces to open for each other. Each room - kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom, bathroom - opens onto the lake through a glass elevation. The rooms are minimalistic, ascetic, homogeneous. We have reduced the flow of stimuli resulting from the presence of too many objects to a minimum. Whatever is needed to organize everyday life has been hidden inside walk-ins. The place emanates calmness and promotes tranquility.
