On Yoga

Space.

In an area of 300 m2, we created a place close to our values and aesthetics. It’s a place of openness, spaciousness, encouraging a free flow of energy, without formal borders. It’s organized in the form of a connecting circle. In the center, we placed a cuboid with the bedroom, dressing room, and bathroom. Around the cuboid, other functions smoothly found their places, one transitioning into another: the entrance hall passing into the kitchen, the kitchen into the dining room, the dining room into the living area, passing into the library, passing back into the hall. In order not to disturb this area’s harmony, we hid the elements for organizing daily life inside built-ins functioning as walls.

Nature.

We immersed this second-floor apartment in nature thanks to planting many high- and low-growing plants on the terrace. The direct link between the kitchen, the dining room, the living area and the terrace, as well as two large glassed-in surfaces on two sides of the interior elevation make one feel the nature’s presence inside, as well as its soothing energy and tranquility.

Details.

To complement the harmonious, rhythmic, almost minimalist space, we carefully chose a few objects, leaving nothing to chance. Everything has its purpose and meaning. One important decorative accent is a mirror designed by Oskar Zieta. Other suitable places in the rooms belong to the following: large, conical Westberg lamps, modular sofas Desiree and Sabaitalia, a Poliform carpet, Carl Hansen & Søn chairs, and armchairs by &tradition. These objects’ design filled the space’s form with content.
